Committee Reports
The Long Island Men's Center had a productive
year
· LIMC attended over 100 meetings
in the community.
· LIMC helped 4 men get jobs who had a hard time finding work
· LIMC helped 2 formerly incarcerated men find housing
· LIMC testified in 4 Suffolk County Legislative and Public Hearings on
bias prevention and violence prevention
· LIMC presented 2 workshops in Wyandanch High School on violence
prevention.
· LIMC held 12 monthly meetings open to all men and women with
attendance growing from 6 in January to 40 in December
· LIMC presented issues on health, financial education, entrepreneurial
opportunities, non-violent communication and gang prevention
· LIMC became incorporated and filed for 501(C)(3) tax exempt status
